Bella Cavalli Farms

News & Events

March 2012

Bella Cavalli proudly released its new wine, Albarino, this month.  This is the first wine made strictly from grapes grown on the home ranch here in Solvang to be released and indications are that it is going to be a favorite of us all.  Other varieties from the vineyard here in Solvang are Cabernet, Grenache and Tempranillo however these red wines are all resting in their barrels and will be released in a year or so.

Albarino is the primary grape used to make premier quality dry white wine in North- western Spain and very little has been planted so far in California. The wine is very aromatic with scents of almonds, apples, citrus, lime, peaches and flowers and pairs extremely well with seafood however it has no match as a “sipping” wine for warm afternoons and evenings.

January 2011

Bella Cavalli releases its new Vino Rosa wine, a dry Rose’ made from Grenache, Cinsault and Syrah grapes. This is a wine of light-medium weight and will be beautifully paired with light chicken, veal and pasta dishes. We feel it will also become known as the perfect “sipping wine” rising to any formal occasion or for personal and intimate conversations in the kitchen or the garden. This wine is now listed on our menu and may be ordered through this website.

October 2009

John Krska, vineyard manager and consulting winemaker for Bella Cavalli, reports that growth of all new varietals is excellent and a bonus crop is projected for next year (2010).

The annual Bella Cavalli Harvest Festival was held at the Farm on October 10, 2009, and in conjunction with the Adopt-a-Vine program of the Foodbank of Santa Barbara County. A large crowd attended and was entertained by a horse show, a live auction a raffle and the Jill Miles band with dancing. Dinner was Italian Putanesca.

September 2009

Membership #1 of the Bella Cavalli Charter Membership Program was registered in our records for Ms. Charlene Hiatt on September 1, 2009, which allows her the number one choice of various purchase allotments for wine from Bella Cavalli.

July 2009

Bella Cavalli kicked off its Adopt-a-Vine program on July 1, 2009. Fliers were distributed around Santa Barbara County announcing this program that is designed to benefit the Local Food Bank and the people it serves. A large public response is expected and Bella Cavalli looks forward to presenting the Food Bank a substantial donation for its food programs.
